Our Junior Kindergarten classroom is a wonderful place where your child will thrive and be excited to come to school.

If you have any questions about our Junior Kindergarten Program, or enrolling your child at St. Thomas Community Christian School, please don't hesitate to stop by the school or give us a call.

The Kindergarten program at STCCS seeks to partner with the parents in nurturing students as they learn about themselves, their family, friends, and community in which they live. The units of study are integrated with hands-on activities in the centers. During the first part of the year, the program is focused on developing a love for God's creation and learning how to live in community with other children in the classroom.

Playtime is twice a day and physical education occurs regularly. The day also includes stories, games, finger plays, songs and drama. These activities prepare the students as they develop literacy and numeracy skills. Instruction is provided that introduces the child to the world of written language and numbers. Field trips are planned to expand the horizons of the child, encouraging curiosity and exploration of God's world. The curriculum opens new experiences and develops communication skills and the child becomes aware of personal gifts and abilities.
