Jessica Waugh, Grade 7/8 Teacher

I teach Grade seven and eight at STCCS, and also lead the Music and French classes for the students.  I am the teacher facilitator for the Worship Team and Chapel, direct the Christmas ministry, and pair up with "Miss M" for all kinds of mischief at the school.

Hailing from a small town in Northern Ontario, I attended the University of Western Ontario's Faculty of Music under a four-year Faculty Scholarship in the Music Education Department.  I continued my studies at Althouse, Western's Education Faculty, and was awarded the Don Wright Music Education Award for my graduating class.  Upon graduating, I returned to my home town to teach in the local high school. During my years there, I was responsible for the creation and implementation of three new music courses for young artists.  After two years of teaching in the North, I felt dramatically called into Christian Education and returned to South-Western Ontario.

I believe that all education is about helping students find their voice.   As a Christ-follower, I believe the goal of every "voice" is to glorify God, our Creator.  My classroom is a place where students are encouraged to develop their gifts and skills, and to use those gifts to serve and worship God. I consistently challenge my students to go deeper in their faith walk, ask tough questions, and "live out loud" for Christ.
